PhotoPurge Privacy Policy

PhotoPurge is a Chrome extension that helps you bulk-select and move items to the trash in your own Google Photos library. It is built so that your data never leaves your device.

What PhotoPurge does

PhotoPurge works entirely inside your own logged-in Google Photos browser tab. It reads the page to count, select, and - only when you explicitly confirm - move items to the Google Photos trash using Google's own controls. Trashed items remain recoverable in Google Photos for around 60 days, per Google's own policy.

Data collection: none

• PhotoPurge has no server and no database. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
• Your photos, videos, file names, dates, and thumbnails are processed only inside your browser and are never uploaded anywhere.
• PhotoPurge contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising code.
• PhotoPurge never asks for your Google password and never uses Google account APIs or OAuth scopes.

What is stored on your device

PhotoPurge keeps a small amount of state in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your device only:

• Your filter settings (date range, media types).
• Progress of the current or last run, so interrupted deletion runs can be resumed.
• A running count of total deletions, used for the free tier allowance.
• A cached record of whether you have purchased a license.

Uninstalling the extension removes all of this.

Payments

Paid upgrades are handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe for payment processing. When you choose to upgrade, the checkout happens on their pages under their privacy policies. PhotoPurge itself never sees or stores your payment details; it stores only whether your copy is licensed.

Permissions

• photos.google.com - required to operate inside your Google Photos tab. This is the extension's only host permission for your data.
• storage - required to keep the on-device state described above.
• extensionpay.com - a content script on ExtensionPay's checkout pages relays payment confirmation to the extension. It runs only on their site.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date.
